Message from the President
Between the joy of work and a packed schedule, I have a fruitful year. When times goes by, my one-year term as President is drawing to a close, and I will be stepping down in September 2026.
Compared to the Hong Kong Automobile Association’s long history spanning a century and a half, my one-year tenure is a drop in the ocean. Throughout the year, I have deeply appreciated the staff's unwavering dedication and their commitment to serving our members, as they continuously develop innovative services to enhance member benefits. I have witnessed the successful implementation and launch of numerous initiatives and services by the Association, including the co-organisation of local and international events such as the Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Esports Racing Qualifier, the 2026 Hong Kong, China Touring Car Championship, and the 2026 Asian Auto Gymkhana Championship (Hong Kong Stop). Regarding the promotion of racing safety, the Association is working as Certification Body (CB) of FIA-specification certification for the roll cages of the Lynk & Co TCR racing cars in the CTCC. It aims to upgrade the vehicles' safety standards in compliance with FIA technical specifications, thereby enhancing safety and protection for drivers during competition.
As a stakeholder in the automotive industry, beyond participating in and co-organising motor sports events, our Association serves as an advisor regarding the formulation of traffic policies and safe driving initiatives. We maintain close communication with government bodies and relevant agencies - such as the Transport Department, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, and the Environmental Protection Department - dedicated to enhancing road safety awareness and promoting sustainable transport development.
At the same time, we are committed to active engagement to deeply co-operation and strengthen connections. Bolstering ties with both public and private sectors and co-organise events with organizations from the Mainland and overseas. In the recent participation in the "Greater Bay Area Mobility Exchange 2026," the Association served as an advisor to highlight practical issues regarding cross-bounder travel between Hong Kong and Macau for the clarification of relevant procedures.
In response to members' requests and to enhance communication and service delivery, our head office relocated on February 9 from Wong Chuk Hang to Marsh Road, Wan Chai, to continue serving our members.
As a President, I pledge to uphold the Association’s core values: sustainable development, professionalism, integrity, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of excellence. Working hand-in-hand with our committees and collaborating closely with diverse local and international organizations, I aim to enhance the automotive services we provide to our members, co-organise various motorsports events, training courses, and deliver the latest information, higher standards service experiences, and a global perspective to our members.
